Calendar

The calendar, under Engage → Calendar, holds the dates your team plans messages around: launches, sales, public holidays, seasonal moments, and dates stored on people’s profiles such as birthdays and renewals. Origamy reminds you before each date that has nothing planned. With the AI package, Copilot drafts a message ahead of it.

Every item belongs to a calendar. A calendar has a name, a colour, and a Remind the team setting: how far ahead someone is reminded about an item that has nothing planned. It can be on the day, or 3, 7, 10, 14, 21 or 30 days before.

Calendar What it holds
Company calendar Created for you on first use. Add events with New event.
Your own calendars Create as many as you like, for example one per team or campaign.
Imported Events from an .ics file (below).
Followed A Google, Outlook or Apple calendar that stays in sync through its link (below).
<Country> holidays Public holidays for a country. Reminds 14 days ahead by default.
Shopping & cultural moments Built in, plus one calendar per country you pick. Reminds 10 days ahead.

You can plan around holiday, moment and followed dates, but you can’t add or edit items in those calendars. On holiday and moment calendars, Hide every year removes an item you never message about. To bring it back, open the calendar’s settings, where it’s listed under Hidden every year.

Tick Internal calendar for team context like offsites and office closures. Internal calendars and events never send reminders, and Copilot never drafts for them.

New event takes a title, a start date, and optionally an end date, a time and notes. Choose its calendar, whether it repeats Every year, and its reminder. Calendar default uses the calendar’s setting. An event can last up to 366 days.

Import .ics reads an export from Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar or Notion, up to 2 MB. Import into an existing calendar or a new one. The preview marks each row: Updates existing, Already on your calendar, Already happened, or You deleted this. Re-importing the same file updates events instead of duplicating them.

To keep a calendar in sync, choose Import .ics → From a link and paste its link:

From Where to find the link
Google Calendar Settings → your calendar → Integrate calendar → Secret address in iCal format
Outlook Settings → Calendar → Shared calendars → Publish a calendar → ICS link
Apple Calendar Share the calendar as a public calendar and copy its webcal:// link

Follow calendar reads it straight away. After that it syncs every few hours, and the calendar’s settings have Sync now. New events appear, changed ones update, and removed ones go. Repeating events are expanded into their dates. An event you delete in Origamy stays deleted. Edit followed events where the link points: in Origamy they’re read-only. If a sync fails, the calendar shows the error and keeps the events it has.

A private link works like a password, so Origamy stores it encrypted and only ever shows the site’s name.

Export .ics saves every calendar as one .ics file for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar. It covers 30 days back through a year ahead. To export a single calendar, use the .ics button in its settings.

Origamy suggests holiday calendars for the countries your people actually live in. It reads each person’s own country, not a single workspace country. A country is suggested once it holds at least 5% of the people whose country is known, up to five suggestions. Add any other country under Add a country. A holiday’s New broadcast for people in <country> button starts a broadcast to the people who live there. It also matches a country stored one level inside an object trait, such as address.country.

Some holidays, such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Mawlid, depend on an announcement. These are marked date estimated, can move a day. Once the date is announced, use Confirm the date on the holiday. The calendar, reminders and Copilot then all move to the confirmed date. Use the estimate undoes it.

A built-in calendar with Valentine’s Day, International Women’s Day, Mothering Sunday, Mother’s Day (US), Father’s Day, Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Detty December (15–31 December), Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, and a monthly Payday weekend (the last Friday of the month through Sunday). If you delete it, it isn’t recreated.

For observances and cultural days in specific countries, such as Mother’s Day, Diwali or Thanksgiving, click + next to Shopping & cultural moments and pick the countries. The countries your people live in are listed first, with their share of your people. Each country gets its own moments calendar. Public holidays stay in their own calendars, and a day the built-in calendar already has shows only once. A country’s moments name the country: New broadcast aims at the people who live there, and reminders and Copilot drafts mention it.

Date fields puts date traits from profiles on the calendar, up to 12 of them. Mark each one as a Yearly date (a birthday), an Anniversary, or a Deadline (a renewal). Each card can start a New broadcast, or a Yearly journey (a Reminder journey for deadlines). The journey is created as a disabled draft for you to finish.

An item enters its reminder window the set number of days before its date. If nothing is planned for it, it shows a Plan now pill and appears under Needs a message, which has three buttons:

  • Plan marks it Message planned.
  • Not needed marks it No message needed.
  • Tomorrow snoozes it for a day.

Origamy also sends one in-app reminder per item to the shared inbox: Plan a message for <title>. It stops once the item is planned, dismissed or snoozed.

Every Monday from 09:00 in your workspace’s time zone, owners, admins and members (not viewers) get an email digest of the next two weeks, split into Needs a message and Already planned. Dismissed items are left out.

With the AI package, Copilot drafts a message ahead of each date on calendars that have Copilot drafts for this calendar ticked. It is on by default for new calendars. The draft can arrive as early as the calendar’s reminder. Drafts arrive as proposals in AI → Approvals, where you review, edit and approve them. See Copilot.

  • Turn the switch on or off per calendar in the calendar’s settings, or in AI → Occasions & goals → What the copilot drafts for. The Coming up panel there lists the next 90 days.
  • Copilot looks 90 days ahead and skips items you’ve already planned or marked not needed.
  • Saving a calendar updates Copilot’s list straight away. Otherwise it refreshes hourly.
  • The calendar replaces the earlier hand-entered occasion list. Birthday occasions and occasions you added yourself keep working and are listed under Other occasions.

To draft one message yourself, open a broadcast from a calendar item and choose Draft the message with Copilot. It fills in a subject and a short body for you to edit before sending.
